Potentially a larger share of the VOC revenues issued from CoC fees, paid by the traders, are now captured by the government. The additional revenues generated by the Bureau can be used to develop the local quality infrastructure, increasing the bureau’s resources and may be even invest laboratories.
The bureau’s benefit form empowerment in the overall process, but also on the other sensitive procedures. The Bureau can hire staff locally and build capacity in country. Some operators are now located in country, in the Bureau’s own office.
The project used for the project is at no cost to the agency or the government. These programmes are self-financed. Investment on technology is done by the Certinov.
The solution brings a major improvement in program enforcement. The interconnection between the bureau and Customs Authorities ensures that Customs carefully apply the program upon consignment clearance. Control is made easier to perform by the Bureau!
The system enables the Bureau to comply with the international trade rules while still acting as the Policeman of trade flows quality. This system is compliant to World Trade Organisation (WTO) requirement on trade facilitation and simplify the process which can be considered positively by the World Bank (WB) in the Doing Business ranking framework.
The reform simplifies the traders’ daily working life! A more efficient process makes users more in favor toward the control. The bureau can focus more on controls than trying to troubleshoot complaints from the importing community.
